Everything Happens for a Reason

I wasnt back at the hostel for more than 10 minutes when in walked two American sisters from Boston. Our deep conversations yesterday afternoon and the night which ended with us linking arms and running down Venice streets was absolutely mindblowing!

I have to go find a waterbus so I can get to the airport and fly to Paris, but Im too excited about meeting Courtney and Lauren to not take a second to mention a few things right now...

Back in the States, I have this thing I do when I go over a railroad track...its something you learn as a child. It goes "lift up your feet, touch a screw, make a wish and it will come true". Since I moved out on my own, Ive gone over railtracks twice a day everyday and always wished for the same thing. Everytime I see a shooting star, everytime I see the clock at 5:55, everytime I pray....its always the same thing. My wish is really more of a prayer and this is what I say:
Please show me the way, the truth, and the light. Please reveal to me who I am.
The person I was a couple years ago--wow, I wouldnt even recognize that girl! I went through a lot of healthy changes last year and feel confident that I was in a good state of mind prior to my arrival in Europe. However, now more than ever--- I am changing and I am growing stronger. Every day, just exactly who I am is being shown to me and I freaking love it!

I am living over here! I am really living, WOW!

It brings tears to my eyes to type this because it is such a profound feeling to know that you are living fully...nothing can beat it. And please dont think that its because of Scott, or the divorce, or my previous boyfriends, or my family, or any of that....Ive known for a long time that it was never any of them that put me in a cage. I put myself there, it has always been me limiting myself...no one else.

Everything in my life has happened for a reason. Meeting Courtney and Lauren is just another example of that.

I am in awe of how the simplest decision can have the most profound impact on our lives...truly, it is lifes most precious blessing.

I look forward to telling you more about these amazing women, but first I fly to Paris (Ive got it so rough over here, I know! LOL)

PS: Grandma---LOL stands for laugh out loud. Lots of Luck was a good guess though! XXOOXOXOXOOXOX

  2. hey Jen,

We love you no matter what you look like or are wearing. The color of your hair, eyes or shoes matters not to us. Your inner beauty shines out to us every day we are near you and that is shows us what type of person you truly are and you should be proud.
