Ayr

I arrived in Ayr yesterday evening. Ayr is a sleepy little Scottish Town along the coast and home of the poet Robert Burns. The town seems desolate and dreary, shops that have gone out of business line the streets. Thankfully, I was able to find a room to stay for £25 pounds. There I laid low, enjoyed having a hotel room to myself, and watched UK TV. I think the constant on the go travels and late nights out in Edinburgh and Glasgow ran me down, I've had a sore throat since yesterday.

My goal for today will be to see Cuzlean Castle and then head back to Glasgow. Traveling out of the major cities is very hard without a car and also expensive. Not only that, there are no internet cafes in smaller and I get stuck in situations without access to even research what to do. I will spend the rest of my trip in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

In hindsight, I should have brought my laptop. It would have made my time more efficient because there is free Wi-Fi everywhere. I would have been able to wake up and check the train times or research museum opening times the night before. Instead of looking for a computer for an hour and then paying a couple dollars to use it, I could have used that time traveling. I'm trying not to let this disappoint me. After all, we live and we learn. I thought I wanted the freedom of just going in the moment...when in reality, my lack of planning has chained me to certain locations. The technology of the world is changing and traveling without access to the internet is not wise. I believe everything happens for a reason, so now I know.
