A bit of bad luck?

I'm having a hard time navigating in Inverness. When I arrived last night, it took me over an hour to hike it to the hostel- it should have been a 10 min walk. Alas, I got lost again this morning and missed my non-refundable train. I was running as fast as I could trying to wind the side streets to make it. An exhausting task with a 35 pound pack awkwardly swinging on your back. I will not be making it to Skye. I'm going to spend the next day in Loch Ness? Maybe two days? I'm struggling to even find a bus or train ticket to book out of here that's less that $100 US dollars...

When I told the clerk at the train station that I was lost, he kindly pointed out that me getting lost is costly. Most Scotish people are nice and I don't think he meant harm. But I was feeling very sensitive and his direct response it edged me to tears.

UPDATE: I spent some time online booked travel and accommodation in Ayr. I left my hostel feeling re-energized and proceeded to have a wonderful day at Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness, and Drumnadrochit. When I came back to my hostel, I found out the B&B in Ayr actually doesn't have rooms available and the website was in error. I'm back to square one on what to do next.... AYE!
