Making Purchases

Only 17 days to go---I've got a lot to do & a lot to buy!

Tonight I bought my backpack from someone off craigslist. I got it for $120, a steal for a pack that sells for around $300 and has only been used once. I also bought a really cute Columbia jacket last weekend. The jacket won't be quite warm enough in the coldest parts of my trip but I plan on layering up and I didn't want to get a coat that would be too hot in the nicer areas.

I've still got two big purchases left, a good camera and hiking shoes. My Dad says that the camera I have now is good enough, but I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars on this trip to take pictures with my three year old 5 mega pixel camera---Sorry Dad, it's really not good enough! :)

At Christmas, my Grandma Alice gave me silk long underwear and the fam gave me some clothes for layering. I should be pretty set in terms of warm clothes. However, I still have a bunch of miscellaneous purchases to make---flashlight, gloves, a good map, warm socks, phone card, emergency stash of power bars, etc...

With a short amount of time left, procrastination is no longer an option! :)

I was trying to take a picture of my coat and pack but my Harley kitty decided to lay on my coat instead!
