Goals for my trip--The Follow-Up

The following is the list of my original "goals" for my trip---along with a few notes on whether I did it or not.

*Attend a mass in Rome: Barry and I sat through part of mass to escape the rain and rest our feet. COMPLETED!

*Take a picture next to the leaning tower of Pisa: Didn't make it

*Drink wine in Tuscany: Didn't make it

*Go see a movie and enjoy not being able to understand it: Iago! Watched it with Court & Bella in Catania, it was absolutely fantastic and my mouth watered over every beautiful Italian word. COMPLETED!

*Take a gondola ride in Venice: Didn't because it was too pricey, however, I ended up missing the water bus to get to the airport so I had to pay for a water taxi. The water taxi drove me through the canals in Venice--equally cool. Calling it COMPLETED!

*Drive along the Amalfi Coast: Spence and I took a trip in his jeep to Positano, Amalfi, and Sorrento. It was a rainy gray day but we had a fantastic picnic and sampled limoncello. I went back to Sorrento with Court and Bella and had the most amazing lunch. COMPLETED X2!

*See the Colosseum: I toured it once and walked by a lot. COMPLETED!

*Get up early, climb a viewpoint, and watch the sunrise: No getting up early for me, unless it was forced...however, I watched a couple sunrises from the nice confines of Spence's apartment and I also watched as many sunsets as possible though! Calling it better than COMPLETED!

*Attend an opera: They don't accept dirty hippies! Just kidding...never made it.

*Find myself some yummy gluten-free pizza: Good Lord, how I tried...Unsuccessful!!

*See St. Peter's Basilica: Oh I saw it along with the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum. COMPLETED!

*Eat lots of gelato! COMPLETED!

*Go to a trendy nightclub: Not only did I go---I danced! COMPLETED!

*Memorize at least one phrase in Italian everyday: Hahaha...no, didn't do that. But I did say "vino", "gelato", "si", "bella", "grazie", "dove", "sono allergico glutine", and "NO PANNE" everyday! Calling it COMPLETE!

*Take a scenic train ride: Took so many---I love trains! COMPLETED!

*Make a wish at the Trevi fountain: Made a wish alone and then again with my sorellas! COMPLETED!

*Go to a sports game: Watched a soccer game on TV in Napoli and in Venezia. Calling it COMPLETED!

*Go to St. Mark’s Square: COMPLETED!

*Learn to cook an authentic Italian meal: Cooked lots of meals! Created my very own Italian dish: Napier's Napoli! Better than COMPLETED!

*Splurge and buy myself something beautiful: Oh I splurged! Most proud of the pea coat and boots! COMPLETED!

*Go skiing: Didn't make it

*And but of course: enjoy obscene amounts of delicious wine!! OH I MASTERED THIS---COMPLETED x100's! :)
